Hundleton A.F.C v Milford United - 19th October 2019
A tale of two half's for Hundleton A.F.C today as they grabbed two late goals to progress into the next stage of the Senior Cup.
Facing a strong and solid outlet in Milford United, it was a tough test from the very beginning for Hundleton. A tough and capable side with a rigid and firm defence, Milford posed problems going forward as the slow starting Hundleton didn’t get out of second gear all through the first half.
After a weak first half display, the Seagulls came out of the blocks faster and looked like a much improved side. Until an uncharacteristic mistake from goal keeper Dan Griff caused Milford to take the lead. The next 30/40 minutes consisted of Milford weathering the Hundleton attack well, until finally Billy Davis slotted the ball home just on the edge of the six yard box. With the game looking like it was heading into extra time, Geraint Lewis took a risk and shot just outside the box. The ball floated just enough that the keeper couldn’t reach it and the net rippled to the joy of the Hundleton faithful. From being being 1-0 down, to being 2-1 ahead within two minutes showed the never say die attitude this Hundleton side possess. They now progress further into the cup competition and are hoping to go all the way with a cup run this season.
