AIGA CSU 2018 Design Show Poster: Community

For the past three years, AIGA Cleveland State has held a design show to support and celebrate the students in the Cleveland State University graphic design program. Each show has held a central theme, 2018 being community and how each student interprets what it means to them.

I chose to focus my poster on communication's impact on community. Saddened by the current state of communication in our country, I used the poster as a mean to educate people on interpersonal communication theory and easy ways to change perceptions and communication approaches through typography.

The use of opposite colors are meant to evoke different feelings when interpreting the information on the posters to symbolize what listening, understanding, and verbally communicating with people who have differing opinions. The teal color being more pleasant to engage with and easier to read hopes to resonate with others and choose a more positive approach to communicating with others.
