This page appeared on the first day MLB resumed its season following the 2012 All-Star game. The Associated Press story centered on the main story lines to watch through the remaining half of the season. That's where the headline, "180 feet from home," came from, playing off the 90-foot distance between bases. I wrote the headlines and subheadlines that appear in the centerpiece artwork, and worked within InDesign to create the ripped page effect. I like how the story lines are quicker to digest, and it adds a dimension to the visual that simply placing the photos with copy would not have provided.
