Warped Perspectives

Warped Perspectives
A Retrospective Case Study
Within this project, I aimed to design various graphics and stickers with a "warped perspective." The objective was to make statements (some abstract) on different aspects of humanity that alter the common perception of these themes.
Ideation:
I started by sketching out possible designs. Along the top row, you can see each design as it developed simply, with each sketch exaggerating or focusing on different compositions, designs, or subjects. None of the sketches are artistically "good", but they served as a great jumping-off point for the design process.
Draft:
This was my first draft of designing the stickers. I had overcome most roadblocks and had generally decided on a style. Each design features sharp angles and a thick stroke, giving it a rough and blocky look. The bottom four designs fully developed this style, whereas the top two designs show that I hadn't quite figured the style out yet. Some ideas were closer to the final product than others, and at this point, I took it to my peers for critique.
Final:
Here are my final designs.

In the first design (upper left), I refined the original idea to something more stylized and lively. My biggest point of feedback was to make it less sterile and more dynamic, so I added these key features.

In the second design (upper middle), I took the boring composition and idea and refined them to be more dynamic. My biggest point of feedback was to break it out of its composition, so I did that.

In the third design (upper right), I refined the silhouette based on the feedback provided and lightened the design.

In the fourth design (lower left), I darkened the shadow and added more design elements to make it clear that it is a guitar being played, based on the feedback.

In the fifth design (lower middle), I fixed the perspective but still allowed it to be warped and wonky to really push the idea of warped perspectives.

In the sixth and final design (lower right), I refined the mouth and made the blocky stroke more sporadic and less perfect to create a further warped perspective based on the feedback I received.

Each design uses its colors, perspective, and message to contribute to the idea of "Warped Perspectives." Some meanings are abstract and meant for the viewer to decipher, while others are quite a bit clearer. Each design twists different ideas, thereby warping the common conception of those ideas.
