This piece was made for a project to create an autobiography book jacket. As a designer, I felt that it made sense for my autobiography jacket to be heavily stylized. I liked the idea of a collage effect but I didn't have the time or resources to manually make one. Instead, I found a Photoshop tutorial to create a digital collage. The tutorial came from the channel "Texturelabs" on YouTube and they provided stock images through their website. The process included posturizing the original image into 4 levels, applying a gradient map, and overlaying stock images of newspaper parts over the separate levels. I continued with the theme throughout the cover and then decided to give the inside of the cover some content as well. The inside of a traditional book cover is empty however, to innovate, my class decided to create content on the inside as an extra touch. For this portion, I photographed myself with different masks that I own and used applied the same effect from the cover. The name of the book was "Beneath the Mask" as a nod towards the fact that I wear a mask on a daily basis, as shown in my "About the Author" section
