Kickin Off is a new football news website exclusively dedicated to northwest teams. The idea was created by football enthusiasts Ed and Tony who have high hopes for this website to be successful in entertaining fans of all northwest football teams, whilst also providing a platform for other football enthusiasts to contribute to the website.

The website is inspired by 1970s Granada TV show "Kick Off"; a regional football news programme which was aired every Friday night.  Our first task at Highpoint Media was to design a football-themed, retro-looking logo which bears resemblence to the TV show.  See the final version below, and be sure to check out more of our logo design creativity.

For a speedy launch, this website was developed using Wordpress.  Time was of the essence as the 2020/2021 football season nears its end.  Wordpress proved to be an ideal platform for KickinOff.co.uk as it provides webmasters with the ability to create multiple author accounts and set permissions accordingly.  There is plenty scope for further development with this website - and Wordpress will allow this to happen with ease.

Features on this website include a Twitter feed of the KickinOff account (an essential platform for promoting this website) and a RSS sports feed from Manchester Evening News' website.  More features will be added as the website grows in content and attracts more traffic.
