This poster was made as a submission to AIGA’s 2020 Get Out the Vote campaign, which celebrated the centennial of the 19th amendment which granted women the right to vote. Inspired by embroidery and sewing, the concept of the design explored how a needle and thread can be symbols of both femininity and strength, and recognized that the passage of women’s suffrage was only one step in the ongoing fight for voting rights. The design language was expanded to include a sticker, social media profile picture, and interactive wall. The interactive wall was inspired by quilting, and can be taken apart and reassembled.
